About Artificial Joint Center |

By the arrival of super ageing society, disability of weight bearing joint
is collecting a lot of attention. Artificial joint surgery for chronic
disease such as osteoarthrosis surely improves the quality of life. Besides,
the recent progress of medical technology and medical supplies are remarkable
so that artificial joint is able to compared with more than 20 years long-term
outcome.
We have established Artificial Joint Center in December 2006 in these social
situations. We deliver the result of surgery that is 216 total hip replacement
and 82 total knee replacement in 6 years until December 31, 2012 under
technical assistance of Graduate School of Medical Science, Kyoto Prefectural
University of Medicine.
We invited Mikihiro FUJIOKA (former associate professor Kyoto Prefectural
University of Medicine) as a full-time director of the Artificial Joint
Center from April 1, 2013 so that we were able to organized a system of
the artificial joint treatment.

There are individual rooms dedicated to Artificial Joint Center. Also, we renovated the interior and shared space such as passage in 2011 to provide patients comfortable treatment space. |

 |
Biocleanness room (high purity operating room, which suitable for joint prosthesis) is constructed in operating room. The purity secures highest level of 100 on NASA standards. Infection of artificial joint has never happened since the center was established.
Most of the surgeries that we operate are orthopedics domain and the feature is high percentage especially in joint prosthesis. Thus, all operating staffs are experienced and skilled with artificial joint surgery.

There are many cases that 40s and 50s are taking artificial joint surgery
of hip joint, although few cases that taking artificial joint surgery of
hip joint under 60 years old. Social rehabilitation is available in early
time and treatment outcome is high enough. Today, artificial joint surgery
